Partons Get One-Run Win at Kalamazoo
Wizards Stadium featured a tense pitchers' duel.

Left-hander Chris Welch mesmerized the Kalamazoo Comets while leading the Dollywood Partons to a 1-0 victory. Vince Isabella closed it out for his 27th save.

Dollywood third baseman Matt Dean said the only thing on his mind when he came to bat with the bases empty in the top of the sixth was making good contact. He did that much, and more! Dean hit a solo home run to stake Dollywood to a 1-0 lead. His 14th home run of the season came off Kalamazoo pitcher Chris Gonzalez.

Welch called the win "a team effort."

The Partons improved their record to 95-33 by beating Kalamazoo.
