Spirited fans greeted the Nashua Sweepers for their clash with the Kalamazoo Comets.

Kalamazoo beat Nashua at Miller Park, escaping with a 5-4 win. The win in large part was due to catcher Mike Gainer. He was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win has Kalamazoo at 45-83.

It could have been a different outcome for Kalamazoo, had it not been for Chad Nilsen, the 26-year old left fielder . Nilsen contributed a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put Kalamazoo up, 3-2.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Nilsen.
