The Nashua Sweepers got a sterling performance from pitcher Jimmy Holt, but the Mexico City Aztecs still prevailed, 5-2. Holt threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Adam Brittain was the winner in relief. His record is now 9-4. The losing pitcher was Jose Zapata. The win makes Mexico City 83-42.
Josh Townsend chipped in for Mexico City, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch.
"We did the things it takes to win a ballgame," said Mexico City manager Dan Martinez.
