Weedpatch Gets 2-0 Win
Louisville got a valiant performance from pitcher Ricky Mena, but it wasn't enough to beat the Weedpatch Widowmakers. Weedpatch won the game, 2-0. Mena threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Jeremy Sharpe, the winner, improved to 9-5. He held Louisville to no runs on 5 hits over 5.1 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. With the win, the Widowmakers improved to 73-51.

It could have been a different outcome for Weedpatch, had it not been for Dave Sicard, the 23-year old catcher . Sicard contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Weedpatch up, 2-0.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Sicard, "and then get after it again."
