Tight Tilt Goes to Tropics, 3-2
|
In a tight tilt between the White Deer Tropics and the Kalamazoo Comets, Luis Aguirre was the deciding factor. The White Deer left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Aguirre yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-2. D.J. Attridge got the save, his 7th in 7 chances.
Matt Peters had a direct impact on the outcome. Peters contributed a run-scoring triple in the top of the third inning to put White Deer up, 1-0.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Kalamazoo manager Malcolm Griffin. "We just didn't cash in."
The triumph puts White Deer at 67-57 for the season.
