Bowsers Slip Past Lake Elsinore, 6-5
|
The Columbus Bowsers dealt the Lake Elsinore Storm a 6-5 loss at Ballpark of Columbus. Jose Cuellar, who is tied for 10th in the S-A in triples with 4, was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. Scott Burner closed out the game, earning his 2nd save. With this game in the books, Columbus is 44-81, Lake Elsinore 28-97.
Steve Woodings was 1 for 4 with a walk for Columbus. The 23-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring walk off Tony Contreras. It was his 14th walk of the season.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Woodings told the Columbus Today.
