Bowsers Topple Widowmakers with Late Rally
The Columbus Bowsers converted a terrific effort from starter Chris Robles into a win over the Weedpatch Widowmakers at Widowmakers Ballpark. The Bowsers won the game by a final score of 6-2. Adam Matthews snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 2.2 innings. He's now 7-8 on the season. The third-place Bowsers hiked their record to 66-58.

In the top of the ninth, David Villanueva, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft, delivered for Columbus. That's when he belted a grand slam home run, putting the Bowsers up, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a climactic one.

"We had a nice day," said Columbus skipper Joe Mills.
