Quintero Now 8-4 Following 2-0 Win
|
Steve Quintero pitched a gem to lead Nashua to victory over the Atlanta Aggies, 2-0. Glen Foster finished the game for Nashua and earned his 29th save. The Sweepers sit in second place in the Southern A East Division with a record of 65-56.
Quintero was in the zone all game. He frustrated Atlanta hitters while giving the Sweepers 8 innings of quality work. Quintero threw 96 pitches, allowing 2 hits and getting 4 punchouts.
"Bottom line," said Atlanta skipper Jeremiah Simpson, "we didn't play well enough to win."
