The first-place Mexico City Aztecs picked up another win.
The Mexico City Aztecs got a stellar performance from pitcher Adam Brittain, who handcuffed the Pueblo offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Brittain yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 10-2.
Roland Clement, the Mexico City catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 3-1, Aztecs. For the game, Clement was 1 for 4.
Said losing manager Jeremiah Simpson: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
