Bowsers Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
The White Deer Tropics got a superb performance from pitcher Jake Fish, but the Columbus Bowsers still won the game, 3-1. Fish threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball. Alex Avila was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 13 save opportunities. The win puts Columbus at 64-57 this season.
In the bottom of the third inning of a 0-0 tie, Columbus first baseman Jake Willison reached on an error by the C, driving in 1 run. It broke the deadlock and put Columbus on top, 1-0.
Willison called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
