Heroes Earn 2-1 Win Versus Comets
The Pueblo Heroes got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steve Sullivan, who muffled the Kalamazoo offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Heroes win at Wizards Stadium. Matthew Tapscott got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Nick Ashworth converted his 17th save in 17 tries.

Pueblo needed the clutch hitting of Alex Mieles to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Heroes on top, 2-1. For the game, Mieles had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Sullivan said.

The Heroes improved their record to 80-42 by beating Kalamazoo.
