Columbus shortstop Hector Landa was instrumental in helping the Bowsers triumph, 8-6, over the Mexico City Aztecs. Landa was 2 for 5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Armando Botello notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 4-1. The save went to Josh Adams, his 5th this season.

Landa contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Columbus in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-2, Landa took a curveball from Brian Nichols and stroked the home run to left. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Bowsers to leap in front, 6-5.

"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Landa told the Columbus Times.

Columbus is now 55-64, Mexico City 86-33.
