The Pueblo Heroes and Kalamazoo Comets completed their game despite the rain.

In a tight contest between the Pueblo Heroes and the Kalamazoo Comets, Justin Binford was the determining factor. The Pueblo left-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. The winner was Binford. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Pat Potter.

The Comets had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Heroes going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old left fielder Chris Hartlaub came to the plate. Hartlaub hit a 2-run triple on a first pitch fastball from Kalamazoo hurler Brian Mabry. It was Hartlaub's 2nd triple of the year.

"Justin's not intimidated by who's stepping into the batter's box," said Pueblo manager Jeremiah Simpson.

The triumph puts Pueblo at 63-54 for the season.
