Sweepers Win, 3-1, at Columbus
|
Mike Hinton pitched well, but the Columbus Bowsers still lost the game, falling, 3-1, to the Nashua Sweepers at Ballpark of Columbus. Jimmy Holt got the win, improving to 7-13. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 9 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Mark Williams earned the save, his 11th in 15 tries.
The Sweepers got a big at-bat from third baseman Sébastien Fleury. For the game, Fleury was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs. In the top of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Nashua a 2-1 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Nashua skipper Tony Allen.
The Sweepers improved their record to 41-74 with the win over Columbus.
