The Pueblo Heroes got a stellar effort from pitcher Phil Shull, helping Pueblo score a win over the visiting Columbus Bowsers, 7-2. The triumph puts Pueblo at 61-53 for the season.

The Heroes got a big at-bat from left fielder Andy Rael. For the game, Rael was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Pueblo a 3-0 lead.

Said losing manager Joe Mills: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
