Syracuse Falters Again, Loses, 8-2, to Maine
Maine Pines starter Dan Miller had all his pitches working at Oakhurst Field. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-2 Maine win over the Syracuse Scorpions. Miller got the win, improving to 8-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The last-place Scorpions have lost 7 consecutive games.

Brian Myers had a big bases-clearing double for the Pines in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Maine leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a cutter from John Froerer, who led the AC in strikeouts with 200 in 2021, and swatted a double to center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pines ahead, 5-0.

Myers told a Maine Daily reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
