The Boston Whistlers picked up a win at Scorpion Stadium, taking down the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-4. Starting pitcher Joe Schroeder was a big reason why. The winner was Schroeder. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Eric Willhite. Blake Bryant collected save number 42.

Evan Stowe came through with a big-time hit for Boston. The shortstop smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Schroeder.

The victory gives Boston a record of 90-72.
