The home crowd had a good time watching the Ann Arbor Z's and Randolph Prairie Thunder get after it.

The Randolph Prairie Thunder topped the Ann Arbor Z's, 5-3, in Stripes Conference action at Prairie Thunder Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Randolph pitcher and Maracaibo, Venezuela, native Ricardo Alvarado. Brandon Williams, now 3-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. Jarrod Threats was credited with the save for Randolph, his 27th of the season.

Randolph took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Gabe Howard hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Prairie Thunder fans to their feet.

In postgame comments to the Randolph Bulletin, Howard said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The 'W' lifts Randolph's record to 69-34.
