The Hickory Crawdads knocked off the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 2-1, in Stripes Conference action at Crawdad Park. Hickory pitcher and Maryland City, Maryland, native Chad Bendon had an outstanding performance. Jon Reynolds earned his 4th save in 4 chances. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Hickory.

Jeremy Alfano went 2 for 3 with 2 singles against the Purple Wave. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Hickory in front, 2-1.
