The Spokane Selects defeated the Denver Pilots, 6-5, in Stripes Conference action at Selects Ballpark. Spokane pitcher Danny Cusack had a standout performance. Mike Brown snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Jesse Aggas suffered the loss. Spokane now has a record of 51-49 with the win.

Spokane got a knockout punch from Rich Lewis. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 17th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Spokane manager Chris McLure.
