Werewolves Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The London Werewolves faced a tough opponent in Barrie pitcher Chris Reed, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Werewolves Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Reed went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Tyler Huewe was the winner. Over 8 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 12 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts. London is second in the Southern A West Division with a record of 81-33.
Had Eric Stogdill not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Stogdill hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Werewolves.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Stogdill. "I just want to win ballgames."
