Kalamazoo right fielder Chad Nilsen had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Bangor Lumberjacks, 7-1. Jeremy Adams picked up the win, improving his season record to 3-5. He struck out 5 in 5.2 innings. Kalamazoo is in last place in the Southern A East Division with a record of 42-74.

Nilsen contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Kalamazoo in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Nilsen took a fastball from Jamie Knudson and stroked the home run to left. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Comets to leap in front, 3-1.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Nilsen told the Kalamazoo Daily News. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
