Kalamazoo Comets starter Michael Brumfield pitched a strong game against the Bangor Lumberjacks at Wizards Stadium, leading the Comets to victory, 5-2. Kevin Martinez recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 20 for 21. Kalamazoo is now 41-74.

Making an impact for the home team was Kyle Swaim. In the bottom of the second, the 24-year old shortstop had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Comets.

In comments to the Kalamazoo Daily News, Swaim admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
