The Lake Elsinore Storm topped the White Deer Tropics, 4-3, in Southern A action at Ballpark of White Deer. The standout performance belonged to Lake Elsinore pitcher and Santiago, Dominican Republic, native Jose Guzman. Guzman, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 6 walks. Mike Corrales recorded his 3rd save for Lake Elsinore.

Lake Elsinore used a well-timed hit by Mitch Adams to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Storm ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.

"Winning never gets dull," said Guzman.

Lake Elsinore, with the win, climbs to 24-92.
