Tropics Deal Storm 5-0 Loss
|
The White Deer Tropics topped the Lake Elsinore Storm, 5-0, in Southern A action at Dust Devils Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of White Deer pitcher Matheus Arispe. White Deer is 60-56 and Lake Elsinore, with the loss, 25-91.
Jonathan Hinkey had a big 3-run home run for the Tropics in the top of the third inning. With White Deer leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a slider from John Richardson, who is tied for 8th in the S-A in innings pitched with 138.2, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Tropics on top, 5-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Hinkey, "and today was a good one for us."
