The White Deer Tropics could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jake Fish into a win. Instead, the Lake Elsinore Storm prevailed, 5-4. Fish threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. John Richardson got credit for the win, improving to 6-6. He allowed no runs on 6 hits in 3 innings. Lake Elsinore, with the win, is 25-89.
Lake Elsinore went up, 5-4, on Danny Thompson's 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Thompson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left White Deer pitcher Tyler Layne feeling irked.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said White Deer manager Brendan Rees.
