Comets Get One-Run Win at Bangor
The Kalamazoo Comets, despite a fine performance by Bangor pitcher Steve Pitt, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Bangor. Pitt allowed no runs over 5.2 innings. Craig Walker closed the game out for Kalamazoo, earning his 10th save. The win cannot erase the fact that Kalamazoo still has a disappointing 31-84 record.

Kalamazoo used a timely hit from Bill Pflipsen to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Comets ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Kalamazoo manager Sam Furfari.
