Crawdads Deal Purple Wave 7-3 Defeat
|
The Hickory Crawdads defeated the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 7-3, in Stripes Conference action at Ballpark of Lexington. Hickory pitcher Dustin Patton had a standout performance. The loss makes New Rochelle 49-50.
The Crawdads got a big at-bat from left fielder Chris Boyd. For the game, Boyd was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Hickory a 4-3 lead.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Patton told the Hickory Chronicle.
