Crawford, Oaks Too Much for Bobcats
|
The Orono Oaks dealt the Walnut Park Bobcats a 5-3 loss at University of Maine Stadium. Mark Crawford was the star on offense. He went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Tim Suttle was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 21 save opportunities. After today's action, Orono sits at 65-32; Walnut Park slips to 52-45.
Crawford had a timely hit for Orono in the bottom of the seventh. With Orono trailing 3-1, he turned a 1-1 curveball into a 3-run home run. It was his 13th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Orono.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Crawford.
