Getting a good performance from left fielder Pete Kincaid, the Hickory Crawdads defeated the Denver Pilots, 6-4. Kincaid went 2-3 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Crawdads. Hickory starter Dustin Patton was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 7 innings. His record now stands at 5-1. Picking up his 6th save was 32-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Mills.

Kincaid contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Hickory get the win.

Kincaid attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."

The Crawdads raised their record to 58-40.
