Storm Lose to Widowmakers in Walk-Off

Weedpatch Widowmakers starter Jeremy Sharpe was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Lake Elsinore Storm, 5-3. Weedpatch reliever Jose Cruceta picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Mike Corrales was saddled with the loss. The win gives Weedpatch a season record of 66-44.
Weedpatch got a game-changing hit from Tony Thomas. The left fielder blasted a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a winner.
Weedpatch manager Tony Velez praised his team's "energy."
