Bowsers Get Clonked by Aggies, 7-2
|
The Columbus Bowsers and Atlanta Aggies left the fans buzzing.
The Atlanta Aggies took Columbus pitcher Rich Lashley's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Aggies Ballpark. The final score had Atlanta getting past the Bowsers, 7-2. Lashley went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 9. Mike Custer picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Brian Ashley, who is tied for 3rd in the S-A in holds with 8, was tagged with the loss.
The Aggies got a big at-bat from second baseman Jeremy Hatton. For the game, Hatton was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 5th double of the season gave Atlanta a 4-2 lead.
"I try to not think too much," said Hatton.
Atlanta is now 39-70.
