Late Rally by Sweepers Locks Up 7-6 Win
|
Sweepers first baseman Joe Pettit left his mark on his team's 7-6 win over the Kalamazoo Comets. Pettit, who is tied for 5th in the S-A in hits with 131, went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for Nashua in the contest. The Sweepers now have a record of 58-50 with the win over Kalamazoo.
Had Jordan Williams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Williams hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Sweepers.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Williams.
