The Barrie Admirals could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Andy Strong into a win. Instead, the Nashua Sweepers prevailed, 3-1. Strong threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Mark Williams earned the save, his 9th, for the Sweepers. Nashua is now 38-69, Barrie 64-43.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Eric Nance came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Barrie pitcher Jesus Ochoa, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Nashua on top, 2-1.

Nance said his team "played with a purpose."
