The Dollywood Partons knocked off the Mexico City Aztecs, 5-2, in Southern A action at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Dollywood pitcher and Chicago, Illinois, native Matt Osborne had an outstanding performance. The first-place Partons, at 80-27, lead the Southern A East Division by 10 games.

Dollywood used the hitting of Bill Leija to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Partons on top, 2-1. For the game, Leija had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Dollywood manager Adam Freeman commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
