Aztecs Suffer 4-1 Home Defeat

The Dollywood Partons got a strong performance from pitcher Adam Begue. Boom Boom stymied the Mexico City offense en route to a solid, 4-1 win at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Vince Isabella recorded the save, his 23rd. The first-place Partons, at 79-27, lead the Southern A East Division by 10½ games.
Jesus Garciduenas took Mexico City hurler Brian Nichols deep in the top of the third. His 2-run home run put the Partons on top, 2-0. In all, Garciduenas had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"We're leading the horse race," said Garciduenas. "But we're not yet in the home stretch."
