The Partons grabbed a win, 9-6, at Tony Gwynn Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Mexico City pitcher Adam Brittain. Brittain went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Ben Winters. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. Sean Moss finished the game for Dollywood and earned his 2nd save.

Crofton, Maryland-born Colby Freese came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Partons trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Dollywood on top.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Freese, "one at-bat at a time."

The Partons now own a record of 78-27.
