Starting pitcher Edwardo Rodriguez gave the Barrie Admirals a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Mexico City Aztecs, 3-2, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Reliever Colby Kelly picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Ken Griffey, who is tied for 4th in the S-A in saves with 18, took the loss. The win puts Barrie at 71-35 this season.

Barrie used a timely hit from Bill Harrison to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Admirals ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Harrison told the Barrie Chronicle.
