The Dollywood Partons beat the Weedpatch Widowmakers, 9-7, at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The Partons got a fine performance from left fielder Jim Dauphin, who was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Dollywood reliever Scott Sauer picked up the win, raising his record to 9-3. Manny Martinez was tagged with the loss. Sean Hill, credited with the save, is now 10 for 11 in save opportunities.

In the bottom of the third inning, designated hitter Nick Doetsch had a 2-run double for Dollywood. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Partons on top, 7-5.

"Hitting is contagious. And when you have a lineup that's going to throw out competitive at-bats one through nine, it makes you want to join in," said Doetsch.

The Partons lead the Southern A East Division by 17½ games.
