In a tight tilt between the Dollywood Partons and the Lake Elsinore Storm, Gilberto Cortez was the deciding factor. The Dollywood left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. Cortez yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 2. His record improves to 8-4. The wins continue to add up for Dollywood. Jim Dauphin, the 22nd overall pick in the 2016 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Dauphin contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Dollywood up, 1-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Dauphin told the Dollywood Bulletin.
