Thanks in large part to first baseman Dean Hostetler, the Mexico City Aztecs beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 7-5. Hostetler went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs. The winning pitcher was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Marco Montes. He tossed 84 pitches over 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The Southern A West Division-leading Aztecs have a record of 78-25.

Mexico City used a clutch at-bat from Brent Mallinson to capture the win. The catcher hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Aztecs ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Mexico City manager Chris Hallman.
