Bowsers Walk It Off for 59th Win of Season
|
Due in large part to designated hitter Ivan Diaz, the Columbus Bowsers sunk the Mexico City Aztecs, 6-3. Diaz belted 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Chad Iverson was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Omari Johnson. Columbus now sits at 59-45, while Mexico City falls to 69-35.
Diaz dealt the big blow in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he launched a 3-run home run off Mexico City pitcher Omari Johnson to win it for the Bowsers.
Columbus manager Joe Mills praised his team's "energy."
