The Kalamazoo Comets had to overcome a fine effort from Poplar Bluff pitcher Jose Sanches to win, 2-1, at Wizards Stadium. Sanches went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The win went to Jim Unknown in relief, making him now 1-0. Jose Sanches took the loss for Poplar Bluff. Kalamazoo is now 42-60.

Kalamazoo took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Max Benitez hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Comets.
