Kalamazoo Charts 3-1 Win Over Barrie
|
The Kalamazoo Comets stifled the Barrie Admirals, 3-1, at Stadia de Leones. Josh Keiser had his hitting cap on. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Kalamazoo. Kalamazoo reliever Rich Pumphrey got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Rafael Baray was tagged with the loss. The last-place Comets have won 4 in a row.
Keiser had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 slider from Rafael Baray, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Comets a 3-1 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Keiser.
"We busted our tails," said Barrie manager Manny Uset. "But we came up short."
