Getting an impressive start from Quentin Dickson, Kalamazoo beat Nashua by the score of 2-1. Craig Walker earned the save for Kalamazoo, his 7th of the year. The win cannot erase the fact that Kalamazoo still has a disappointing 28-71 record.
Kalamazoo used the timely hitting of George Cienfuegos to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Comets on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Cienfuegos said.
