Widowmakers center fielder Jason Eaton left his mark on his team's 5-4 win over the Kalamazoo Comets. Eaton, who is tied for 10th in the S-A with a .280 batting average, went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Weedpatch in the contest. Cooper Culaham snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 2 innings. He's now 3-3 on the season. Oliver Wood collected save number 19.

Had Brian DeHaas not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, DeHaas hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Widowmakers.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Eaton, "and then get after it again."

The defeat makes Kalamazoo 40-60.
