Townsend Lifts Aztecs to 7-6 Win
In a tight contest at Tony Gwynn Stadium, the Mexico City Aztecs edged the Pueblo Heroes by the score of 7-6. Mexico City shortstop Josh Townsend, who blasted 1 home run, was a key contributor. Bryan Moody, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 0.1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. Omari Johnson picked up his 21st save of the season.

Townsend had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Jeremy Killian, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Aztecs a 7-6 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Townsend.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Mexico City manager Dan Martinez.

The second-place Heroes dropped to 64-37.
