Weedpatch pitcher Joey Dykema did his part in helping his team defeat the Louisville Sweepers, 5-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Dykema, now 5-8, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 0, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The Widowmakers improved their record to 51-47 with the win over Louisville.

Weedpatch used a clutch at-bat from Jesus Jimenez to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Widowmakers ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Jimenez said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
