London Bats Cold in 5-0 Loss
|
The first-place Dollywood Partons picked up another win.
Dollywood pitcher Sean Hill had a large part in his team beating the London Werewolves, 5-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Hill, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up no walks.
Josh Jackson had a big run-scoring double for the Partons in the bottom of the second inning. With Dollywood leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Rick Hill and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Partons ahead, 2-0.
Dollywood manager Adam Freeman called it "a good, solid win."
The Partons improved to a lofty 75-22.
