Lumberjacks Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Bangor Lumberjacks earned a close win over the Barrie Admirals, thanks in part to Mike Reich. The Bangor right-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Bangor reliever Elian Cason was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Graham Renner. The Lumberjacks are now 49-48, while the Admirals fall to 65-32.
Had Casey Lamb not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Lamb hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lumberjacks.
"I was a little disappointed," said Barrie manager Manny Uset. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
