Columbus Sent Home with 7-4 Loss
|
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Jeffrey Torres, the Long Beach Keys defeated the Columbus Bowsers, 7-4. Torres was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Keys. Josh DeYoe earned the save, his 4th in 4 tries. With the win over Columbus, the Keys improved to 35-62.
Long Beach first baseman Bobby Chaney helped the Keys go up, 5-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Chaney hit a 2-run single off Columbus pitcher Oliver Murga.
"Every time I go up there, I try and hit a ball hard," said Torres.
