Second Baseman Philip 3-for-4 in Bangor Win
|
The Bangor Lumberjacks dumped the Nashua Sweepers, 7-3, in large part due to second baseman Russ Philip. On the day, Philip went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5 for the Lumberjacks. The winning pitcher was Will Clark. He tossed 86 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits. George Harris was credited with the save, his 5th in 5 tries.
With Bangor leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Philip hit a sinker from Armando Castro for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Lumberjacks ahead, 5-0.
