The Nashua Sweepers used a great performance from Jimmy Holt, who is tied for 9th in the S-A in strikeouts with 101, to beat the Bangor Lumberjacks, 2-1, at Ballpark of Bangor. Holt yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-10. The Sweepers now have a record of 35-61.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Jesse Lang was at the plate when Nashua scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sweepers to go in front, 2-1.

"We needed two runs to win," said Sweepers manager Tony Allen, "and that's what we got."
