The Kalamazoo Comets had to overcome a good performance from Poplar Bluff pitcher Brent Gudim to claim a 3-2 win at Wizards Stadium. Gudim went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. Kalamazoo reliever Jim Unknown got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jim Unknown was tagged with the loss. The Comets saw their win-loss record go to 45-50. At the same time, the Hillbillies fell to 39-56.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the tenth when Travis Letner hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown to win the game for Kalamazoo. The home crowd went wild.

"The crowd was raucous," said Letner.
